CJC-1295 and ipamorelin are two “research peptides” that are almost always sold together online. Both release growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary, but they do so through different receptors and over very different time spans; neither is a licensed medicine in any country. This page sets the two side by side with the same criteria: what they are, where the human data end, why combined use is an assumption, and their official status with the FDA, WADA and in Türkiye. It contains no dose, preparation, administration, stacking or sourcing information. Details for each substance: CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin.

What the evidence says: CJC-1295

The human data on CJC-1295 consist of three small studies in healthy adults. In two randomized, placebo-controlled dose-escalation studies, mean GH rose 2–10-fold and IGF-1 1.5–3-fold after a single injection; with repeated administration IGF-1 stayed above baseline for up to 28 days, and no serious adverse reaction was reported. [1] A study with blood samples every 20 minutes through the night showed that the pulse pattern of GH was preserved and the trough level rose 7.5-fold. [2] All of this is hormone measurement; no outcome such as muscle, fat, sleep, recovery or aging was measured in any study. The only trial in a patient group (HIV-associated abdominal fat, 120 people) was terminated in 2006 without reported results. [3]

What the evidence says: Ipamorelin

The human data on ipamorelin consist of one volunteer study and one patient trial. In healthy male volunteers at five dose levels, intravenous administration produced at every dose a single GH wave that peaked at 0.67 hours and faded; the terminal half-life was about 2 hours. [5] In a multicenter, double-blind phase 2 trial in 114 patients undergoing bowel resection, time to tolerating a standard solid meal was a median of 25.3 and 32.6 hours in the ipamorelin and placebo groups (p=0.15); there was no significant difference in primary and secondary efficacy outcomes. [6] The same sponsor’s second phase 2 study of 320 people was completed in 2014 but published no results. [7] Ipamorelin’s most cited property, “selectivity without raising cortisol,” comes from rat and pig experiments and has not been confirmed with the same measurements in humans. [4]

Why combined use is an assumption

Selling the two substances in the same product or side by side rests on the assumption that stimulating the GHRH and ghrelin receptors at the same time gives stronger GH release. The assumption may look physiologically plausible, but there is no controlled human study in which CJC-1295 and ipamorelin were given together and their effect or safety measured. The human data above examine the two substances separately, in different years and for different purposes. [1] [6] The FDA likewise writes that the available clinical data for CJC-1295 are limited. [8] How much and for how long combining a substance active for days with one active for hours would raise IGF-1, and what that means for the heart, blood sugar or cancer risk, is unknown.

Safety and product content

There are no long-term safety data for either substance. Among the serious adverse events associated with CJC-1295, the FDA lists an increase in heart rate and a widespread vasodilatory reaction; for ipamorelin it writes that serious adverse events including death were described in a published study with intravenous use and that there is no safety information for other injection routes. [8] The abstract of the Beck et al. (2014) study does not mention death, reports the frequency of any adverse event as higher in the placebo group (94.8% vs 87.5%), and concludes that ipamorelin was well tolerated. [6] According to the FDA, both substances may carry a risk of immune response with some routes of administration; peptide-related impurities and the characterization of the active substance are complex. [8] The same FDA list reports, for substances stimulating the same hormone pathway, a rise in blood sugar (GHRP-6), an increase in insulin requirement (GHRP-2) and a trial stopped for a heart failure signal (ibutamoren). [8] In an unlicensed product, the content, the purity and whether the CJC-1295 is the DAC or no-DAC form are unverified.

Regulatory status: FDA, WADA and Türkiye

FDA. The debate runs through the list of bulk substances that pharmacies may use in compounding. Ipamorelin acetate has been in 503B category 2 since September 29, 2023; CJC-1295 was previously in category 2 and, because the nominators withdrew the nomination, is today in the “nominated but withdrawn” table. [8] Neither has an approved medicine in the United States. WADA. In the 2026 list, under S2.2.4 “growth hormone releasing factors,” CJC-1295 appears by name among the GHRH analog examples and ipamorelin among growth hormone secretagogues and their mimetics; S2 is prohibited at all times. [9] Türkiye. The TİTCK (Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency) Licensed Human Medicinal Products List dated October 16, 2026 contains no product with either substance. [10] Article 19 of Law No. 1262 punishes those who manufacture unlicensed preparations and those who knowingly sell them with one to five years of imprisonment; unlicensed import counts as smuggling. Verdict

The evidence says this: CJC-1295 and ipamorelin are two separate substances that work through different receptors and have very different durations of action, and no clinical benefit has been shown in humans for either. CJC-1295 raises hormone levels in healthy adults for days; whether that turns into a health outcome has not been measured. Ipamorelin was tried in a disease and did not differ from placebo. Combined use has never been studied in humans. Both are unlicensed, prohibited by name on the WADA list and absent from the licensed product list in Türkiye. The information on this page is current as of October 2026; a health problem related to the growth hormone axis requires physician assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Are CJC-1295 and ipamorelin the same thing?

No. CJC-1295 is a 29-amino-acid analog that stimulates the GHRH receptor and stays active for days because it binds to albumin; ipamorelin is a five-amino-acid peptide that stimulates the ghrelin receptor and whose effect fades within hours. Two separate substances, two separate receptors.

Have CJC-1295 and ipamorelin been studied together in humans?

No. For CJC-1295 there are only small studies in healthy adults that measured hormone levels, and for ipamorelin a phase 2 study looking at bowel function after surgery. Their combined use has not been tested in a controlled human study.

Which one has stronger human evidence?

Neither has evidence of clinical benefit. CJC-1295 was shown to raise hormone levels for days, but no muscle, fat or aging outcome was measured. Ipamorelin was tried in a disease and did not differ from placebo. Raising a laboratory value is not “better” evidence than failing in a disease.

Are CJC-1295 and ipamorelin banned in doping?

Yes. In WADA's 2026 list, CJC-1295 appears by name in section S2.2.4 as a GHRH analog and ipamorelin as a growth hormone secretagogue; both are prohibited at all times, in and out of competition.

Are CJC-1295 and ipamorelin legal in Türkiye?

In the TİTCK list of licensed products dated October 16, 2026, there is no medicine containing either. Law No. 1262 makes the manufacture and knowing sale of unlicensed preparations punishable by imprisonment.
